With diverse sector experience, Adam’s background in advisory has prepared him well for throwing himself head first into helping entrepreneurs through investent. His passion for venture capital and commitment to nurturing Wales’ startup ecosystem led him to develop the concept for Mentra, ultimately bringing the vision to life.

Away from Mentra, Adam occasionally competes in strength sports and remains an amateur DJ.

As Investment Partner and Investment Committee member at Mentra, Huw is key in shaping the firm’s investment thesis and helping deliver investment into our target companies. Using his invaluable experience as an serial Angel and entrepreneur, Huw co-leads our pre-investment work with Adam.

Starting life as an Cambridge-educated economist who has enjoyed a distinguished 25-year career in finance following spanning various industries and roles, Huw is an invaluable member of the team at Mentra. As an entrepreneur, Huw founded a successful fabless design house and video compression startup with operations in the former Soviet Union.

Now serving as CFO for a European Private Equity Group, Huw continues to foster his passion for startups as one of the most active angel investors in North Wales. He also runs Camau Nesaf, a foundry dedicated to nurturing high-growth startups and supporting the next generation of Welsh entrepreneurs in North Wales.
